Skopelos Chora
Skopelos – green and blue in perfect harmony
A Project ”with timeless beauty and modern charm“
Project Details
The plot is located within the traditional settlement of
Chora Skopelos, with a total area of 1,165m2. It has a
significant elevation difference of 17.41m above the
ground level over a distance of 32.28m, with its main
facade directly on the peripheral road, elevated by
3 m above it. From all points on the plot, the view of
the harbor bay and Alonissos is unobstructed.
The Ask
The project involves the creation of a small, luxurious settlement of three independent residences that embrace the natural landscape and highlight the beauty of Skopelos.
The Approach
Each residence is surrounded by private gardens and features its own pool, while the layout of the outdoor spaces allows for a natural flow between private and shared areas. Materials like Pilio stone for the roofs and earthy tones for the walls and wooden frames enhance the timeless and natural aesthetics of the space.
Project Identity
The design is based on two fundamental principles:
1. Complete integration with the architectural morphology of the traditional settlement.
2. Maximum possible blending with the natural landscape of the island, which surrounds the plot from the rear side.
Three independent residences will be constructed, each adopting architectural features of the traditional settlement, thereby acquiring their own distinct character,
much like the traditional houses on the island.
